Joan's Story
Life
I stayed in Memphis after high school and graduated from Memphis State in 1970. Taught for one year in Olive Branch, MS and then went to Bartlett High School and taught there for thirty years--retired in 2001. I currently live in Collierville, TN. In 1997, I married Jerry Channell (an old high school boyfriend some of you may know)--my second marriage. Sadly, Jerry passed away in May of 2005 after a ten month battle with lung cancer. l years and I miss him terribly, but I'm doing okay. I have one daughter, Lindsay, and a stepdaughter, Jerry's daughter, named Jennifer Bickerstaff. Jennifer and Buddy live in Franklin, TN. Lindsay and her husband, Damon McKay, have one boy, Cade, and a little one on the way in April--a girl named Stella. Lindsay teaches second grade with Shelby County Schools.
I keep myself busy these days playing golf and spending time with my three year old grandson, Cade.
